Lunch in Springfield

I’m on the road today in Springfield, Ore. (Don’t tell any of the locals, but it’s essentially a part of Eugene.)

I’ve been here a few times before, but I don’t really know my way around town. So, looking for somewhere interesting to eat lunch, I stumbled across Addi’s Diner and decided to head inside.

I expected the typical, down-homey nostalgia joint replete with 50’s kitsch, soda fountains and Elvis Presley playing on the jukebox.

I didn’t expect to see the King singing live and in-person.

(And in case you’re wondering, the burger was adequate; potato skins were a nice change if not particularly noteworthy. Elvis was pretty good. The atmosphere was awesome!)

  1. Nice find, Matt! Maybe this guy is one of those tribute artists too (I don’t recognize him though)or maybe he should be–in any event, I know you’d love covering one of those shows! I’ve got an “in” with the promoter, I’ll let you know when the next one comes up.
