East of Omaha

One of the benefits to following this blog is getting the inside scoop on new projects I’m working on. OK, that may not be a benefit, but you get it anyway.

So today I’m presenting a new personal project I’ve been working on for a few weeks, called East of Omaha (which would be somewhere in Iowa, right?). I’m taking portraits of touring bands and musicians with their tour vehicles, and asking them about their rides. I hope to keep it going for a while until I have a good cross-section of the music scene traversing the highways of the nation (or the Northwest, anyway). Check it out at EastOfOmaha.com. For now, at least, it also includes some older portraits of bands I’ve made over the past few years.

East of Omaha may seem an odd name for a project by someone who’s never been to Omaha (or Iowa), but it makes sense from Bob Seger’s perspective (or Metallica’s, if you prefer).

For the website, I’m only posting one picture per band, so here are some outtakes. Bands shown include Skinny Lister, Summer Twins, Cherub, Girlyman, and Milagres (above).
