Perrie and I took Daphne on her first train ride this morning. The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad runs from Independence (at the south end of the Cleveland area) through Cuyahoga Valley National Park to Akron, a 3-hour round trip. We got off in Peninsula though, about 45 minutes down the line, where we enjoyed a coffee/tea/French toast break at Fisher’s Cafe and Pub, took a quick look around the artsy village, had a quick gander at Lock 29 on the Towpath Trail, and then boarded the train back to Rockside Station.

Daphne seemed to enjoy the trip, and certainly turned heads wherever she went. We will definitely have to explore more of the Towpath Trail in the future. Meanwhile, here are some pictures from the trip (click the thumbnails to see them full size).
