Webb Memorial State Park
With Perrie out of town, Daphne and I decided to explore our new surroundings with a visit to Webb Memorial State Park in Weymouth, about 10 minutes or so from our house. The beach wasn’t as “beachy” as Daphne hoped, and the weather was colder than I’d hoped, but it was still worth the walk around to see the views of downtown across the bay and see some birds.
One interesting thing we saw was the MBTA’s catamaran Champion, which was just commissioned last fall to serve the commuters ferrying from Hingham to downtown Boston and Logan Airport. The 150-passenger boat makes the trip in less than 45 minutes.
